You might go home with Steri-strips (small strips of tape) covering the incision on your abdomen. A week after your surgery, you may remove these. It is often helpful to take them off in the shower.

You can expect to have some spotting of blood from your vagina for the first several weeks after surgery.

When to call the doctor

It is normal to have some bruising around your incision. However, if fluid starts to drain from your incision or the skin around your incision becomes red and hot, you should take your temperature with a thermometer and call our office at 314-747-1402.
